4. The Inside Scoop

Oh la la, MBA! In France, HEC is the premier business school, and its MBA program is one of the top-ranked in the world. Small, intimate, and set in one of the world’s most beautiful and dynamic cities, HEC offers an excellent program ideal for those whose work destination is Europe.
  • HEC Unique Features
  • 16 Month Program – The 16-month program is divided into two halves: 1. The Core Phase 2. The Personalized phase. The core phase is, well, core. The personalized phase is a phase of your education which is designed to propel you out of the MBA program and into the career of your choice.
  • “Individual Professional Project” (IPP) – An integrated in-the-field experience of four to six months, for which you are graded.
  • Euro-centric – Although students arrive from just about every country in the world, the large majority of students go on to work in Europe and about half of them, in France.
  • Company Consulting Project – Join a team of fellow HEC students to work as strategic consultants within a company, with coaching and supervision by HEC faculty.
  • Mission and Action Program (MAP) – This is a hands-on consultancy projects conducted in developing world-countries with a humanitarian goal linked to sustainable development.
  • Luxury – When one thinks of France, one thinks food, fashion, jewelry, makeup. Needless to say, one of HEC’s biggest strengths is in the luxury goods (and marketing in general) industry.
  • “Open-Minded” Admissions – Although the school is highly selective, they seem to select candidates from a wide range of profile. Just looking at the wide range of GMAT scores and ages indicates that the school doesn’t have a “formula.”

  • Precision Essay Tips for HEC
  • Like France, at Least a Little – The French, as it is known, are very proud of their culture. If you want to not just learn and survive, but do well and make the most of your time, you will have to open up yourself to this new culture. The program is truly global, yet many students do go on to work in France, and speaking French will be nearly a must in that case. Showing an interest or some prior knowledge (in the school, French culture, the language…SOMETHING) will go a long way in helping the school to understand why their program fits best into your goals.
