Bootcamp #1 – MBA Application Training

Precision Essay’s MBA Application Training is a personalized, comprehensive introduction to the b-school process. Are you thinking of applying to b-school? If yes, then you likely have TONS of questions. This intensive course is designed to answer… all of them. “Where should I apply?” “What are my chances?” “What are the smartest strategies to increase my chances to get in?”

MBA Application Training addresses all these and more, in a highly interactive program.

The course is a 5-hour, 3-day bootcamp, covering every step of your MBA application journey. We begin by helping participants assess their chances, mapping out a reasonable plan of attack and timeline. We next move into the nuts and bolts of the essay writing process, from start to finish. Finally, we will cover all other aspects of a successful application, including how to perfect your MBA resume, how to coach your recommenders, even what to do after your app has been submitted. PE’s Bootcamp #1 covers, well, everything.

Classes are extraordinarily interactive. Participants will be assigned homework, and encouraged to participate actively. While you are always welcome to sit back and simply take it all in, you may find you get even more out of the process by engaging.

Session 2 [2 hours]

Part One: The Art of Essay Writing
- Step-by-step process, laying out how to select MBA essay topics
- The 5 fool-proof tips for writing MBA application essays
- The 5 most common pitfalls in MBA essay writing
- How to structure an MBA essay
- Is the optional essay right for you?

Part Two: Interactive Review
- Essays that have worked, and why

By the end of this session, all participants will have a sound, intermediate understanding of how to craft effective MBA essays.

Session 3 [1 hour]

The Art of the MBA Resume:
- The framework
- What should and should not be included

- Interactive review of resumes that work, and resumes that do not

By the end of this session, all participants will understand all aspects of an MBA application, and how an effective candidacy weaves together all such elements.

How do we make the adcom’s mouth water?

Some applicants already have a solid understanding about what it takes to craft an MBA application. For such candidates, Precision Essay offers this more advanced course that focuses entirely on the art of expert MBA essay writing. After all, the essays are what make MBA applications so challenging.

This 4-hour, 3-day bootcamp will bring your essay writing to an entirely new level. Precision Essay will walk you through ALL the tricks it has picked up through the years. Topics will include how to overcome writer’s block, how to select the best stories, and how to stand out from a crowd that already understands “the basics” of the MBA essay-writing process.

Classes are extraordinarily interactive. All class participants will be assigned homework, be expected to participate actively, and will be encouraged to take part in each class’s closing Q&A session. All attendees will also get one essay edited by a member of the PE team upon completion of the course.

Session 3 [1 hour]

- Using essays to overcome application obstacles
